Irina Popa & Luiza Zan – Gărâna Jazz Festival
Gărâna Jazz Festival a avut în program anul acesta două concerte cu artişti care au editat albume recent la Soft Records: Irina Popa şi Luiza Zan.

Prima trupă care a deschis cea de a doua zi a festivalului a fost Irina Popa & The Sinners. Acest concert confirmă ascensiunea impresionantă a tinerei Irina Popa, fostă câştigătoare a festivalului de la Mamaia – 2008, invitată la Sibiu Jazz Festival în 2012 (în formula Cornel Cristei -clape, Virgil Popescu – bas şi Titi Herescu – baterie). La Gărâna, Irina Popa a concertat sub numele Irina Popa & The Sinners (Cornel Cristei – clape, Iulian Vrabete – bas, Relu Bitulescu – baterie).
În aceiaşi zi s-a derulat şi concertul Luizei Zan, acompaniată de saxofonistul american Rick Condit, Gyarfas Istvan (Ungaria) – ghitară şi Berkes Balazs (Ungaria) – contrabass.
“A urmat Luiza Zan cu părul ei negru și lung strâns într-o coadă la spate. Mică de statură și parcă translucidă din cauza frigului, Luiza părea că tocmai ajunsese acolo din altă lume… Luiza a cântat un gen de flamenco și fado care, în mijlocul nopții te purta într-o cafenea din Brazilia, iar țigările aprinse din jur se transformau în trabucuri scumpe.” – Romina Stan

In the program from this year, Gărâna Jazz Festival had two concerts with artists who recently released their albums at Soft Records: Irina Popa şi Luiza Zan.

The first band to open the second day of the festival was Irina Popa & The Sinners. This concert confirmed the impressive ascent of young Irina Popa, former winner of the Mamaia Festival – 2008, invited to sing at the Sibiu Jazz Festival 2012 (with Cornel Cristei keyboards, Virgil Ionescu – bass and Titi Herescu – drums). At Gărâna, Irina Popa performed under the name Irina Popa & The Sinners (Cornel Cristei – keyboards, Iulian Vrabete – bass, Relu Bitulescu – drums).
On the same day was the concert of the singer Luiza Zan, accompanied by the American saxophonist Rick Condit, Gyarfas Istvan (Hungary) – guitar and Berkes Balazs (Hungary) – double bass.
