Mihăescu, Eugen

Eugen Mihăescu (n. 29.11.1963) a crescut într-o familie de muzicieni, tatăl fiind tenor liric la Teatrul de Operetă Ion Dacian din Bucureşti iar mama o melomană “cunoscătoare” în arta interpretării vocale. Pasionat de muzică, primeşte cadou prima ghitară acustică la 8 ani şi visează să devină “un compozitor cunoscut, un chitarist virtuoz, un muzician desăvârşit!“. Ceva mai târziu visul a devenit realitate când “mi s-a intâmplat, să fiu pe scenă cu monştrii sacri ai rock-ului internaţional: Uriah Heep, Nazareth, Ian Gillan, Jan Akkerman sau Paul Rodgers“.

Este membru fondator al trupei Krypton, formulă iniţiată în anul 1982, iar primele înregistrări Krypton apar pe compilaţia “Rock vol. 7“, editată de Electrecord. Cu trupa Krypton înregistrează alte 7 albume şi în paralel editeaza un album orientat spre fusion cu  Axa Project şi colaborează cu trupele Blue Spirit  şi Laura Stoica Band.

Guitaromania, primul său proiect solo situat la confluenţa genurilor Heavy Metal si Prog Rock apare in 1993 la Electrecord. În 2018, în aceeiaşi arie stilistică, Eugen Mihăescu înregistrează un nou album solo, intitulat Guitaromania Part Two, editat de Soft Records.

Eugen Mihăescu (born November 29, 1963) grew up in a family of musicians, the father being a lyrical tenor at the Ion Dacian Operetta Theater in Bucharest and his mother a “connoisseur” in the art of vocal interpretation. Passionate for music, he receives the first acoustic guitar at the age of 8 and dreams of becoming “a known composer, a virtuoso guitarist, a perfect musician!“. Sometime later, the dream came true when “it happened to me, to be on the stage with the sacred monsters of the international rock: Uriah Heep, Nazareth, Ian Gillan, Jan Akkerman or Paul Rodgers.”

He is a founding member of the Krypton band, a formula initiated in 1982, and the first Krypton recorded tracks appear on Electrecord‘s “Rock vol. 7” compilation. Eugen Mihăescu with the Krypton band records another 7 albums and in parallel edits a fusion album with Axa Project and collaborates with Blue Spirit and Laura Stoica Band.

Guitaromania, his first solo project at the confluence of the Heavy Metal and Prog Rock genres, appeared in 1993 at Electrecord. In 2018, in the same stylistic area, Eugen Mihăescu recorded a new solo album, titled Guitaromania Part Two, edited by Soft Records.
